Health & Safety

Your travel experience is at the forefront for our members. This includes the health and well being of the traveller. In light of the recent COVID-19 and how it is affecting Travel and Tourism in Canada, a member of the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies is the perfect travel resource that you can count on in case there is a change of plans, emergency, cancelled flights or any other unexpected event. Your ACTA Travel Agent is there when you need them.

Now more than ever travel health insurance is critical for all travel outside of your home province or territory. Without insurance, medical care in other countries and even within Canada may not be covered by the traveller's healthcare plan or by the traveller's credit card. Treatment outside of Canada can be extremely expensive and treatment may be denied unless the traveller shows he or she has adequate insurance coverage.

Travellers should take the additional step to research current news and advisories of the destination they will be visiting. Travellers should be aware of any travel warnings, risks or danger when travelling abroad and it is highly recommended that you take the time to read government bulletins to be informed of the places where travel is not recommended and why. Travellers should also be aware of luggage limits or restrictions to satisfy security requirements. Your ACTA Travel Advisor will have the knowledge and access to the pertinent details to ensure that you have all the information you need before your departure.
